OK - wanting "feedback" might be a little ambitious, but when you've actually approached someone and asked for a submission (and I too put in quite a bit of work), at least some kind of response is in order.
I found the same problem when I returned from overseas and was job-hunting. I sent out quite a number of applications (all of which take time and money to submit) and was lucky to get any sort of response aside from those who were interested in arranging an interview.
It's a very sad indictment of our society if we're so busy we can't take 5 minutes to get back to someone we've invited to communicate with us in the first place.
Oh well.... good luckt to them!
